Yesterday I was on the Concord Trailways bus from Portland, Maine to Boston. With a large bike bag, a large duffle bag full of bike gear , and a backpack. Tara is on a bus from Littleton, NH. We have planned to attend the “Girls Gone Gravel Festival” at Coler Park in Bentonville, Arkansas. AKA the home town of Walmart Headquarters. The region is the new Eastern biking Mecca…..with forecasts of thunderstorms, showers, over cast and rainy (but temps in the 70’s and 80’s) it is sure to be an adventure. I’m still recovering from a sprint triathlon last weekend and my digestion is still a bit off which I hope doesn’t add to the Adventure. It was a challenge to pack for the forecast but here’s hoping that between the two of us we have all we need. How hard can it be, just a week long adventure compared to three months? Right?! One tent, one cookware set and one roll of TP between the two of us. We should be all set. We are meeting at South station and going to Mimi’s for the night. Flights early tomorrow morning. This will be the first time we fly in, assemble bikes at the airport (nearby airport hotel) and ride away. The hotel has agreed to hold our bags until we return next week. We made our lights accessible in case reassembly becomes challenging. We are hoping to arrive at the festival while it is still daylight. It’s about 8 miles or so to the festival venue and then another 7 miles to our campsite. Let the adventure begin!

Tara and I head to Boston today for an early morning flight to North West Arkansas. This should be FUN! We are starting with 2 days at a Girls Goen Gravel Festival. The festival is in Bentonville and from there we hvae a few ideas for a short cycling tour in Arkansas. Yeah!
