Jon and Lois with doggie bags on their hands, warming by the gas fire before leaving the Jack-a-lope innDay 31. 53.8 miles. Jackalope inn to Forest Service Campsite on a cow dung filled creek. We filtered and boiled the water….fingers crossed we don’t have to use the Giardia meds we brought. It was wet and soggy this morning. We went out for breakfast and there was not a crumb left on any plate. We left the jack-a-lope inn around 11am in the rainy drizzle after a couple quick stops at the post office and grocery/drug store. We hooked up with Moe and Harry today after meeting them at the bike shop. They live about an hour from Jon and Lois in BC. We all rode together. FAST! After the first 10 wet, chilly miles and a stop at the post office in Boulder, Wyoming, the skies dried up a bit. The views were vast, Wyoming is a lot like Montana. We are camping in a cow pasture tonight. Cows mooing about. The last few miles were a bit rolling with a few clouds. The view backwards showed huge dumping rain clouds. I couldn’t shift into first gear at times, which was frustrating and Tara’s pannier clip broke. Zip ties are miraculous. It was a bit chilly for a late dinner in the cow field and windy when setting up our tents. The rocks near us remind me of Joshua Tree, California. We were in bed at 8:15, all trying to warm our feet!
